STATEMENT REGARDING THE REMOVAL OF THE CONIFERS AT MEMORIAL PLAYING FIELDS
The conifer trees adjacent to the tennis courts have been removed after advice given by contractors previously engaged to clean the playing surface. The trees were causing moss to grow and roots were beginning to lift the surface.
The Estates Committee agreed to the work to be carried out in May 2017.
There has been increased usage of the tennis courts in the last year and there are community led plans to further increase the number of players using the courts. The Town Council wishes to encourage this initiative
The Town Council also seeks to replant trees on its land, where appropriate.
